The exercise underscores the shared dedication of India and Japan towards regional safety, peace and stability, whereas advancing their common vision of a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific. The exercise is scheduled to be performed in East Fuji Manoeuvre Training space of Japan from 24th February to ninth March 2025. Exercise DHARMA GUARDIAN is an annual occasion carried out alternatively in India and Japan. The Indian Army contingent departed at present, for 6th version of India- Japan Joint Military Exercise DHARMA GUARDIAN. Building on the momentum of Chief of the Army Staff’s profitable visit to Japan from 14th to seventeenth October 2024, Exercise DHARMA GUARDIAN will additional strengthen the bilateral defence cooperation between India and Japan. This exercise also led to the creation of Fort Polk, named for the Confederate General (and Episcopal Bishop) Leonidas Polk, which was renamed to Fort Johnson on June 13, 2023. It was renamed back to Fort Polk in 2025, after WWII Army General James Polk. Vagabond Army Airfield and Selah Airstrip are located on the Yakima Training Center. Because they are so highly effective, they require a lot of power to operate.
